1. The one thing this page is for
Astro Varuna computes a chart accurately and interprets it faithfully within a tradition. Neither of those makes it advice.
Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, legal, financial, employment or relationship advice, and nothing on it is a statement of fact about the future. Do not use a reading to decide whether to take a medicine, leave a job, make an investment, marry someone, end a relationship, or take any other consequential step.
2. What is exact, and what is not
It is worth separating the two things this app does, because they carry very different weight.
The arithmetic is arithmetic. Graha longitudes, the ayanamsha correction, bhava boundaries, divisional charts, the panchang elements and the dasha dates are computed, and can be checked against another engine — which is exactly why every chart prints the ayanamsha, the bhava system and the node type it used. If a figure is wrong, it is a bug and we would like to hear about it.
The interpretation is a tradition. Yogas, doshas, house readings and period effects are the application of classical rules, which disagree with one another, depend on the school followed, and have not been shown to predict events. Astro Varuna names the rule behind each statement so you can see where it came from. That is honesty about method; it is not evidence.
Astrology is not accepted by the scientific community as a means of predicting events or describing personality. We are not going to tell you otherwise on the way to asking you to rely on it.
3. Health, and emergencies
Astro Varuna is not a medical device and gives no diagnosis, prognosis or treatment. Never delay seeking medical help, and never stop or change a treatment, because of anything a chart or an astrologer said.
If you are in crisis, thinking of harming yourself, or in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. A consultation thread on this site is not monitored for emergencies and must never be used as one.
4. Money, law and work
Nothing here is financial advice, investment research or a recommendation about any security, property or business. Nothing here is legal advice or a substitute for a lawyer. Nothing here should be used to decide whether to hire, promote or dismiss anyone — using a birth chart to make an employment decision about another person is, in many places, also unlawful.
5. Readings about other people
A chart cast about somebody else describes a tradition’s reading of their birth moment, not their character, their health, or their worth as a partner or employee. Please do not present it to them, or to anyone else, as a finding about who they are. Guna milan in particular produces a score; a score is not a verdict on two people, and this app will not pretend it is one.
6. What an astrologer on Astro Varuna is
Listed astrologers answer in their own words, from their own tradition, in a cultural and interpretive capacity. They are not our employees, we do not verify or endorse their readings, and a consultation creates no professional relationship. See section 7 of the terms.
7. Your decisions remain yours
Read a chart for what it is: a long tradition, carefully computed, interpreted openly. Let it be interesting. Do not let it be the reason.
To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any action taken or not taken on the strength of anything Astro Varuna computes or displays. The full statement is in section 11 of the terms.
8. Telling us we got something wrong
A wrong figure is a bug and we want it. A reading that overstates what the tradition actually says is also a bug, and we want that too. Write to us with the birth details you used and what you expected to see.
This sheet is written to be read, not to be survived. If any part of it is unclear, write to us and we will answer in the same plain terms — see Contact.
